It was inferred that the ancient manuscripts Key Technical Points in Starter-making,checked and punctuated by MENG Nai-chang,might originate in Shanxi through the author＇s systematic appreciation and analysis of the manuscripts combined with the author＇s long-term starter-making experience.The manuscripts,as a rare historical book,is full of scientific nature and rigorous scholarship and is of great significance in guiding Daqu production in the middle and lower reaches of Yellow River.
