Microbial Domestication Engineering Practice on Wastewater in Baijiu Distilleries in Summer
The production of Baijiu has seasonal characteristics:high temperature in summer will affect the normal reproduction and fermentation of microorganisms, therefore Baijiu distilleries will stop production in July and August every year. Before the production resumption in September,to en-sure the normal operation of the various units of the wastewater treatment facility, the microorganisms in the reaction system must be domesticated to restore their maximum activity. This study explored the microbial domestication status of a distillery in Jiangsu through multi-dimensional indicators, including pit bottom water amount(supplemental carbon source),COD removal rate in anaerobic stage, and changes in effluent pollutant concentra-tion.The results showed that a total of 6000 t pit bottom water was added during the microbial domestication period;the microbial domestication last-ed for 28 days, during which the average COD removal rate of the anaerobic stage and the aerobic stage was 84.00%and 92.00%,respectively;the concentrations of COD,ammonia nitrogen, total nitrogen and total phosphorus in the discharged wastewater were 60-120 mg/L,2.0-3.5 mg/L,20-40 mg/L and 0.5-2.5 mg/L,respectively;the effluent water quality was stable, and met the national standard for indirectly discharged wastewater in Baijiu distilleries(GB 27631-2011).The microbial domestication was successful, and met the conditions required for wastewater treatment after production resumption.
