Analysis of carbon emission reduction prospects for stainless-clad bimetallic steel structures under the carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals
In order to explore the carbon emission reduction prospects for stainless-clad bimetallic steel structures, this paper analyzes the development trend of the steel structure industry under the carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals. These trends include the rapid development of intelligent construction, the broad market provided by emerging industries and the accelerated development of high-performance steel and high-performance structures. This paper highlights that stainless-clad bimetallic steel structures can meet the requirements of high performance, economic efficiency and carbon emission reduction.Based on the theory of life cycle assessment,a carbon emission calculation model for stainless-clad bimetallic steel structure was proposed by using emission factor method. The calculation results showed that the carbon emission of stainless-clad bimetallic steel structure was 36%less than that of steel structures and 10%less than that of stainless-steel structures.Replacing ordinary steel structures with stainless-clad bimetallic steel structures can effectively reduce carbon emissions.Replacing stainless-steel structure can reduce carbon emission and achieve economic efficiency.
