The Influence of Mobile Electronics Utilization on Life Satisfaction among Older Adults:Mediated by Community Participation and Moderated by Social Networks
In the context of China entering a moderately aging stage,it is of great significance to clarify the influence of mobile electronics utilization on the life satisfaction of older adults for the national strategy of actively responding to aging population.Based on the 2020 data of China Longitudinal Aging Social Survey(CLASS 2020),a structural equation model is used to examine the relationship between mobile electronics utilization and life satisfaction among the older adults.The results show that among the older adults,mobile electronics utilization positively affect life satisfaction and the relationship between mobile electronics utiliza-tion and life satisfaction is mediated by community participation and moderated by social networks.To improve their life satisfaction,older adults should be further familiarized with the use of mobile electronics;resources of their neighborhoods and the society at large can be leveraged to set up relevant courses,provide voluntary guidance;the enthusiasm of the elderly to participate in community activities can be improved by Inter-net;their family and friends can be guided to help them enjoy the digital life.
