Historical Materialism:The Theoretical Base of “Four Comprehensives”
Historical materialism is the theoretical base for the Communist Party of China ( CPC ) to understand the world and transform the world. It is also a scientific basis for us to observe any major strategic thought. The strategic blueprint of the ‘Four Comprehensives’ proposed by Xi Jinping is the contemporary embodiment of Marxist historical materialism. It reflects how the CPC upholds and has developed the basic theories of Marxism, including those concerning the principal contradiction in a society;social organism; historical determinism and choice; and the role played by the masses in making history. The “Four Comprehensives” has become a powerful mental engine to promote the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
