The Dunhuang Studies in Hunan province started earlier,and its research field is apt at language and character studies.The research on Dunhuang manuscripts and Buddhist scriptures in Chinese is fruitful and has distinctive characteristics;The academic structure is diversified,and the research team is centered around Hunan Normal University,with a complete talent system passed down from generation to generation.Nevertheless,there is a shortage of researchers and weak re-search achievements in Dunhuang history and Sino foreign exchange history.
