Mr.Wang Li is an advocate and practitioner of integrating ancient culture into the teaching of ancient Chinese.In the textbook of Ancient Chinese edited by him,he first created a new mode of combination of"Selected readings","Common words"and"General Theory of Ancient Chinese",and set up 14 cultural knowledge topics.Ancient Chinese is not only an impor-tant part but also an important carrier of traditional culture,so our study of ancient Chinese language covers the study of traditional culture itself and its cognitive tools.There exists a two-way relation-ship between Chinese language and traditional culture,which influences and restricts each other.Through some typical cases in the teaching of ancient Chinese,this paper shows that when we study ancient Chinese and read ancient documents,we should not only be satisfied with the understanding of the surface meaning of words and sentences,but also explore their deep cultural background.On-ly in this way can we get its essence.
