The Teaching Basis and Academic History Construction of the Compilation of Modern Literary History Textbooks for the Seventeen Years:From the Per-spective of Zhu Tong's Lecture on Modern Literature in 1957
The disciplines of modern literature and the teaching of modern literary history in the 1950s and 1960s were in their early stages of development.The modern literature textbooks used in Chinese departments of major universities were primarily internally compiled mimeo-graphed or typeset materials(lecture notes).Normal universities and colleges played a prominent and constructive role in the compilation of modern literature textbooks.This study focuses on Zhu Tong's Lecture Notes on Modern Literature compiled in 1957 at Nanjing Normal College as the re-search object.By examining Zhu Tong's practices in teaching modern literature and textbook com-pilation,as well as analyzing the content of his Lecture Notes on Modern Literature,it is pointed out that during the"17 Years"period,the compilation of modern literature textbooks was closely relat-ed to the problems arising from the teaching process.The focus on teaching stimulated the compila-tion and use of modern literature textbooks.Consequently,this study further explores the research of scholars and the construction of academic history in the history of modern literature textbook compilation.
