Borges can be regarded as a pioneer in opening up a mode for the postmodernist view of history,and his Pierre Menard,Author of the Quixote completed the"legitimization"of"the absurdity"by restarting the literary canon,thus"the absurdity"became a philosophy of history.Borges's legitimization of the absurdity is achieved by denying the Herodotian idea of"history".It is precisely because Borges does not feel"real"in what historians describe as"what has hap-pened",so he feels the need to write"his own history"from the sense of absurdity.Behind his"blind foresight"and"tricks of deliberately messing up"is Borges's will to power.
