How Ambidextrous Innovation Enhances Organizational Resilience:A Multi-case Study in the Chinese Context
Entering the superposition period of VUCA and BANI,shaping organizational resili-ence is of great significance to the survival of enterprises and the realization of high-quality develop-ment of China's economy.In order to explore the mechanism of the impact of ambidextrous innova-tion on organizational resilience,this paper uses qualitative research methods to carry out multiple case studies with six manufacturing enterprises as examples,and builds the action path of"ambidex-trous innovation-core competence-organizational resilience"based on the logical framework of"behavior-capability-result".It is found that the exploratory and exploitative ambidextrous inno-vation behavior practices of manufacturing enterprises are the direct driving force for building high-resilience organizations,and the improvement of core capabilities at both technology and market lev-els through the implementation of ambidextrous innovation is a strong support for enterprises to suc-cessfully build organizational resilience.Additionally,transformational leadership is an effective ac-celerator to shape organizational resilience in the practice of ambidextrous innovation in manufactur-ing enterprises.The conclusions open the black box of the influence of ambidextrous innovation on organizational resilience to a certain extent,enrich the research on the path of organizational resili-ence shaping,and provide practical inspiration for enterprises to enhance organizational resilience from the perspective of innovation.
