人类传播具有本体上的复杂性,复杂性亦是传播学发展的驱动力.面对充满不确定性的数字社会,复杂性科学持续改变着传播研究的计算方法,计算传播学正是以复杂性为中心的范式转向结果.本文深入探讨了传播复杂性的不断增加和基于复杂性科学的计算演化,将复杂性转向理解为计算传播学的发生逻辑.计算传播学在学科源头上就引入了复杂性科学的范式思想,它在认识论上所秉持的便是一种复杂性观点,大数据计算在本质上是对复杂性的计算处理,"复杂性-计算"的不断交织驱动了传播研究的计算转向.
The Complexity Turn:The Generative Logic of Computational Communication Science
Human communication has ontological complexity,and complexity is also the driving force for the development of computational communication science(CCS).In face of the uncertain digital society,complexity science has changed the computational methods of communication re-search,and CCS is the result of paradigm shift centered on complexity.This paper explores the in-creasing complexity of communication and the evolution of computing based on complexity science,taking the complexity turn as the generative logic of CCS.CCS has introduced the paradigm of com-plexity science at its source,and it holds the view of complexity in epistemology.The computing of big data is essentially the computational processing of complexity,and the continuous interweaving of"complexity-computing"drives the computational turn of communication research.
