Re-examination of the Concepts of"Globalization","Anti-globalization"and"Deglobalization"
The report to the 20th CPC National Congress made an important statement on Chi-na's adherence to the correct course of economic globalization. At present, momentous changes un-seen in a century are accelerating across the world. The world has entered a new period of turbulence and change with the rise of a backlash against globalization. The concept of"globalization"was in-troduced in the second half of the 20th century and has been widely used since the 1990s.In the straightforward sense,"globalization"refers to capitalist globalization. From a Marxist standpoint,we insist on using the concept of economic globalization,to understand the objective requirements of the development of the productive forces and the inevitable result of scientific and technological pro-gress.Parallel to the development of capitalist globalization,the"anti-globalization"movement,re-presented by the"Seattle Storm"and the World Social Forum, emerged at the turn of the 20th and 21st century. The reason for the emergence of"anti-globalization"was not economic globalization per se,but the flaws of the capitalist globalization model in the process of the global governance. The concept of"deglobalization"was initially formulated in the sense of"anti-globalization",but since 2016 it has acquired new meanings. It is a product of the combination of populist tendencies and the demands of"re-globalization"of the developed countries of the West, following the bank-ruptcy of neo-liberalism.Identify the basic concepts and penetrate the ideological fog.Nowadays, the question is not whether to"globalize"or not,but to adhere to the correct course of economic glo-balization,to jointly address the challenges of global governance, and to jointly create a better future for mankind.
