数字经济对城市碳排放的影响研究:效应与机制

数字经济作为推动经济高质量发展的新引擎,是实现"双碳"目标的核心驱动力.本文利用2011-2020年我国270个地级市面板数据,在测度数字经济发展水平的基础上,实证考察了数字经济对城市碳排放的影响效应与作用机制.研究发现:数字经济能够显著抑制城市碳排放,在采用工具变量法、双重差分法、替换解释变量及安慰剂检验等进行内生性和稳健性检验后该结论依然成立.机制分析表明,促进产业结构升级和推动绿色技术创新是数字经济显著抑制城市碳排放的两条基本路径.异质性分析与面板门槛效应分析表明,数字经济的碳减排效应在中东部地区和非资源禀赋地区更为明显,且数字经济对城市碳排放的作用效果还受到城市规模的影响,表现出单一门槛效应,呈现出先促进后抑制的"倒U型"特征.因此,应当加快推进数字经济与实体经济深度融合,加速推动产业结构升级与绿色技术创新,加强地区差异化政策精准匹配等.
Research on the Impact of Digital Economy on Urban Carbon Emissions:Effects and Mechanisms
As a new engine to promote high-quality economic development,the digital economy is the core driving force to achieve the"dual carbon"goal.Based on the panel data of 270 prefec-ture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2020,this paper analyzes the effect and mechanisms of the digital economy on urban carbon emission on the basis of measuring the development level of urban digital economy.The results show that the digital economy significantly reduces urban carbon emis-sion,and this conclusion is still valid after the endogeneity and robustness tests such as instrumental variable,difference-difference,alternative explanatory variables,and placebo test.The intermediary mechanism tests find that improving the upgrading of industrial structure and technological innovation levels are the two basic paths through which the digital economy significantly suppresses urban carbon emission.The heterogeneity analysis and panel threshold effect analysis show that the impact of digital economy on carbon emission is more significant in the eastern region and non-resource endowment re-gion,and the effect of digital economy on urban carbon emission is also affected by the urban scale,showing a single threshold effect,and an inverted"U"feature of first promotion and then inhibition.
