Reflections on the Political Economy of the Global Digital Nomadic Lifestyle
In recent years,the digital nomadic lifestyle has sparked a global trend.This study,from the perspectives of commodification,structuration and spatialization of the political economy of communication,seeks to penetrate the utopian vision of digital nomadism that endows individuals with diversified work and life.It also aims to unmask the real predicaments of digital nomads ob-scured by this vision and the social issues it triggers,thereby facilitating a comprehensive and pro-found reflection on this emerging lifestyle.These three analytical perspectives are inter-connected,collectively revealing the complex relationship between media technology and the global business ex-pansion,free mobilization,and resource competition of digital nomads.In the face of the rise and popularity of the digital nomadic lifestyle,we should maintain a cautious attitude,starting from the perspective of the joint influences of global capital and state power,to delve deeper into the essence of this lifestyle,further understand and interpret the new phenomena and problems it generates,and the social changes it may bring.
