The Construction of Interdisciplinary Project-Based Learning Process and Case Design in Elementary Mathematics:Taking"I am a Little Nutritionist"as an Example
Elementary mathematics interdisciplinary project-based learning,as a novel teaching method, holds the value of revealing the multifaceted nature of mathematics, enhancing connections between subjects. It compensates for the abstraction of mathematics, stimulates interest and motivation in learning, and utilizes the educational func-tion of mathematics to cultivate core competencies. The paper employs CiteSpace software to conduct a visual analy-sis of keywords in literature related to"interdisciplinary"and"project-based learning",revealing a relative scarci-ty of research in the realm of interdisciplinary project-based learning within the field of elementary mathematics edu-cation.The Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education explicitly incorporates Nutritious Lunch as a project-based learning theme to be implemented in the third stage of elementary education. Therefore, this paper explores the construction of the process of interdisciplinary project-based learning in elementary mathematics from the aspects of theme construction, objective setting, content delivery, learning pathways, and academic assess-ment.It also designs a case study based on this process titled"I am a Little Nutritionist,"aiming to promote com-prehensive student development within an interdisciplinary context, emphasize the potential of interdisciplinary pro-ject-based learning in elementary mathematics education, fulfill the requirements of core competencies, and deepen curriculum reform.
