Fostering Trust through Emotional Communication:An Emotional-Sociological Approach to Rebuild Doctor-Patient Trust
The contemporary doctor-patient relationship often unfolds between unfamiliar individuals, underscoring the significance of emotional communication in medical interactions.Furthermore, the prominence of bio-medicine and the professionalization of medical practices have marginalized the pivotal role of emotional communication in shaping doctor-patient trust. As a result, trust has predominantly manifested as patients'reliance on the medical system and cog-nitive confidence in medical workers'qualifications and competencies, neglecting the essential facet of emotional trust. These facts have eroded the social foundation of doctor-patient trust. This paper advocates for a doctor-patient trust model named"Fostering Trust through Emotional Communication".This model underscores the necessity of methodi-cally infusing emotional support into medical education and practice to reintroduce doctor-patient trust through the culti-vation of emotional bonds.By embracing this emotional-sociological standpoint, this paper delineates a viable pathway to fortify trust in fragile doctor-patient relationships.
