The Formation of Modern Tragic Views in China and the Reconstruction of National Discourse:A Perspective from the History of Concept Translation
The introduction of the term"tragedy"in the context of modem Chinese society and culture far exceeds its literary aspect and is widely used by new knowledge groups in the multidimensional arena of ideological collisions and struggles. The development and evolution of this concept have become a multi-dimensional discursive practice covering different fields of knowledge, not only involving Chinese literature in the process of world literary modernization, but also presenting the multiple dilemmas faced by modern China during its social transformation and its attempts to find a way out in a three-dimensional manner.Placing the transformation process of the concept of"tragedy"from passive Westernization to conscious localization within the research perspective of the history of conceptual translation can help understand the modernity of Chinese literature and culture within the historical context of conceptual translation. It also helps explore how the concept of"tragedy",as a foreign concept, undergoes various"misinterpretations"and"mutations"before it is fully integrated into the Chinese context, becoming an important spiritual force in the reshaping of modem Chinese culture and the reconstruction of national identity.
