Chinese silk production has a long history and exquisite craftsmanship,reaching its peak in the Tang Dynasty.According to the raw materials,organizational structure,craftsmanship,and usage,silk in Tang poetry is referred to by various names such as silk fabric,thin silk,twilled silk,satin and brocade as well as various decorative patterns such as birds and in-sects,plants,geometry,natural scenery,and text.Tang people not only viewed the Silk Road with a broad perspective,show-casing its enormous role in cultural exchange between China and the West during the Tang Dynasty,but also implemented it at the level of craftsmanship and vividly described it with poetry.While incorporating strong personal emotions,it presented a glori-ous material and spiritual world.
