A Review of Research on Discursive Construction at Home and Abroad(2003-2023)
Discourse plays an essential role in constructing social reality and interpersonal relationship,influencing the public's viewpoints and maintaining power relations.People construct,maintain,or subvert specific realities,power relation-ships,beliefs,and viewpoints through discourse.In the past 20 years,the study of discourse construction has received more and more attention from scholars,and there is a rich literature on the subject at home and abroad.The research on discourse con-struction mostly focuses on social issues and identity construction,with a wide range of corpus sources and discourse types mostly political discourse and media discourse.The research theories and methods are constantly enriched.These studies demonstrate the powerful constructive function of discourse and present three distinctive features:a clear interdisciplinary perspective and methodology,in-depth and critical analysis,and the continuous expansion of research fields.
