Compared with the Ci of the Song and Jin Dynasties,Ci in the Yuan Dynasty exhibits distinct new characteris-tics.In terms of authorship,the ranks of non-Han literati expanded,multi-ethnic literary circles emerged,and elegant gatherings centered on Ci became widespread.Regarding subject matter,Yuan Ci focused on depicting grassland culture and expressing the spirit of harmony under a unified regime,presenting a grand and majestic atmosphere.The innovations in Yuan ci were not the result of internal changes within the genre but were products of the"Great Yuan"spirit of the era and the vast cultural influ-ence of the grasslands.
