Electrophysiological Effects of Castor Oil on Adriamycin Induced Dilated Cardiomyopathy in Rats with Heart Failure
In order to determine the cardiac safety of castor oil in patients with heart failure combined with con-stipation,rats were divided into a normal control group and an adriamycin-induced dilated cardiomyopathy group by using animal experiments, the effects of dimethylsulfoxide(DMSO)and DMSO+castor oil on electrocardiogram(ECG),left ventricular conduction velocity and conduction dispersion degree of isolated perfused hearts of normal rats and adriamycin-induced dilated cardiomyopathy rats were recorded and analyzed by multi-channel electrical mapping technique. The results showed that castor oil had no significant effect on electrocardiogram(ECG),left ven-tricular conduction velocity and conduction dispersion in normal rats and adriamycin-induced dilated cardiomyopa-thy rats. Therefore, castor oil did not trigger arrhythmia in normal rats and adriamycin-induced dilated cardiomyopa-thy rats, and the use of castor oil in patients with heart failure combined with constipation was safe and effective.
