The collection, identification and evaluation of beet germplasm in the north China
Some fine sugarbeet germplasms have been selected and identified through the appraisal of main agronomic traits and quality analysis from 48 germplasms grown up in North China. These germplasms were on high yield and high sugar comtent as well as disease resistance.5 of them were better than others at seeding stage and lush growing stage of foliage.4 germplasms were suitable for mechanization planting.17 germplasms had better resistance to Cercospora.We found 6 materials with high sugar content and 1 material was high yield variety.All this sugarbeet germplasms can be used as crossing parents.
