Reflection on Decision-making Services for Two Excessive Snowstorm Processes in Tongliao
For two consecutive years,there were two excessive snowstorms occurred during November 17 to 19,2020,and November 6 to 10,2021,respectively,in Tongliao.These processes were characterized by cumulative large snowfall,wide impact range,extreme intensity,and severe impact,ranking among the top two strongest snowfall events in history and qualifying as extraordinary snowstorm processes.The forecasts and warnings for these two snowstorm processes were accurate,with timely information dissemination,adequate decision-making services,and seamless cooperation among meteorological departments at the county,municipal and provincial levels.By evaluating and analyzing the forecasting and warning,emergency decision-making,live statistics,information dissemination,and other related work and their effectiveness of these two processes,the characteristics of the decision-making services were summarized,aiming to provide references for future meteorological service support during major weather processes and improve the quality and effectiveness of decision-making meteorological service products.
