Governance and Innovation of Urban Agglomerations in the Process of Chinese Path to Modernization
Urban agglomerations are an important spatial vehicle for promoting Chinese path to modernization.Urban agglomerations are effective in balancing population flow and optimizing industrial layout,coordinating regional public service resources and promoting common prosperity,improving re-source utilization efficiency and regional ecological and environmental protection,and expanding demo-cratic participation and collective consultation.Based on the connotations and requirements of Chinese path to modernization,such as huge population size,coordination of material and spiritual civilization,common prosperity,harmonious coexistence of human beings and nature,and people's democracy in the whole process,the governance of future urban agglomerations needs to focus on integrating population flow,industrial layout and public services,and promoting the dynamic balance among the three;strengthening the regulation of multiple interests among different levels,fields and subjects within the urban agglomerations;and focusing on the construction of cultural clusters in urban agglomerations to satisfy the needs of the public and the private sector.It is also necessary to focus on the construction of cultural clusters in urban agglomerations to meet the growing spiritual and cultural needs of the resi-dents;to actively build ecological urban agglomerations oriented by green development;to strengthen the cultivation of urban agglomeration social organizations and residents'awareness of urban agglomera-tions,and to improve the mechanism of urban agglomerations'democratic governance.
