RESEARCH PROGRESS ON THE APPLICATION OF ULTRASOUND IN COMMON PEDIATRIC ORTHOPEDIC DISEASES
Objective To review the latest research progress in the application of ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of common orthopedic diseases in children, and to explore its clinical application value. Methods The literature on the use of ultrasound in common pediatric orthopedic diseases was reviewed by searching Chinese and English databases, and the literature on the application of ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of children's elbow injury,congenital/devel-opmental malformations during pregnancy and delivery(developmental dislocation of the hip, club foot, muscular torticollis)and idiopathic scoliosis was included. Results The application of ultrasound in the treatment of children's elbow injuries is minimally invasive and no radiation. It can dynamically observe the alignment of fractures, and has unique advantages in evaluating the injuries of cartilage, ligaments and blood vessels, realizing the concept of"Radiation Protection and Safety Op-timization"in medical imaging. The application of ultrasound in the screening of congenital/developmental malformations and idiopathic scoliosis during pregnancy and delivery is helpful for the early diagnosis and treatment of these diseases,In most cases, good results can be obtained through non-surgical treatment, which can reduce medical costs and relieve the pain of children. Conclusions Ultrasound is of great value in the diagnosis and treatment of common pediatric orthopedic diseases in children. The application of this technology greatly reduces the risk of radiation exposure of children and medical staff, and improves the diagnosis and treatment of such diseases, which is worthy of promotion and application. This article reviews the application of ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of common orthopedic diseases in children,in order to provide refer-ence for clinical treatment.
