Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of using digital chairside technology to make all-ce-ramic endocrown repair for second molar after root canal treatment, and compare it with traditional fiber post core crown repair. Methods 89 second permanent molars after complete root canal treatment were randomly di-vided into 2 groups using CEREC chairside digital technology to make all-ceramic prosthesis:46 of 42 patients in the experimental group were repaired with endocrown(glass ceramic material); The control group of 43 pa-tients underwent post-core crown restoration(glass fiber post+glass ceramic full crown). The improved USPHS standard was used to evaluate the clinical repair effect of the two groups on the integrity, retention, edge closeness, adjacency, gingival status, dental integrity and other indicators at 3,6 and 12 months after the comple-tion of the restoration, respectively, and the patients filled in the satisfaction questionnaire. Results 92 patients met the inclusion criteria of this study, including 96 patients with dental problems, including 7 patients with den-tal loss.A total of 85 patients(43 males and 49 females, aged 20-69 years)and 89 patients with dental problems(42 maxillary cases,47 mandibular cases)were included, including 42 patients with dental problems in the exper-imental group,46 patients with dental problems, and 43 patients in the control group,43 patients with dental problems.According to the improved USPHS standard, the clinical repair effect of the prosthesis was evaluated, and the evaluation was A,representing the clinical excellent level. The study showed that the excellence rate of the endocrown was 97.7%and that of the post-core crown was 92.6%.There were no significant differences in the integrity, retention, edge cohesion, adjacency, secondary caries and dental integrity between the two groups during the 1-year observation period(P>0.05),but there were significant differences in periodontal health status between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion The short-term clinical effect of using digital chairside technology to make an all-ceramic endocrown for repairing the second molar after root canal treatment is similar to that of post-core crown, which can be used as an ideal choice for second molar restoration.
