Objective To investigate the expression and correlation of atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP)and its receptor-a(NPR-A)in placenta of pregnant women with early-onset preeclampsia. Methods A total of 15 full-term pregnant women with normal pregnancy and 15 patients with early-onset preeclampsia were ran-domly selected to terminate pregnancy by cesarean section.Placenta tissue was collected. The expression and distribution of ANP and NPR-A in the placenta of normal pregnant women and women with early-onset preeclampsia were detected by immunohistochemistry and western blot. Results ANP and NPR-A are ex-pressed in placental tissues of normal pregnant women and women with early-onset preeclampsia. There was no significant difference in the expression of ANP between the placental tissues of pregnant women with early-on-set preeclampsia and that of normal pregnant women(P>0.05).The expression level of NPR-A in placental tissues of pregnant women with early-onset preeclampsia was significantly different from that of normal preg-nant women(P<0.05).Conclusion Syncytiotrophoblast regulates maternal-fetal circulation through ANP and NPR-A.The dysfunction of ANP and NPR-A may be involved in the onset of preeclampsia.ANP and NPR-A affect the invasion of villous trophoblast cells and the recast of uterine spiral arteriolae, thus leading to the occurrence of preeclampsia.
