Objective To analyze and study the rule of acupoint selection in the treatment of myopia by acupuncture, and to evaluate its effectiveness and safety. Methods CNKI,WanFang,VIP and CBM databases were searched for clinical randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of acupuncture for myopia from January 1,2003 to November 31,2023.The acupuncture prescription Excle database was established to analyze the regularity of acupoints.Meta-analysis was performed by RevMan 5.3.Results A total of 116 acupuncture prescriptions and 8 literatures were included.Data mining results showed that acupuncture treatment of myopia was mainly based on head and face acupoints and foot three yang meridians acupoints, among which high-frequency acu-points were Cuanzhu,Taiyang,Sibai,Fengchi,Hegu and so on.The results of Meta-analysis showed that compared with the control group, acupuncture had advantages in improving the total clinical effective rate[OR=2.28,95%CI(1.41,3.66),P<0.05]and improving the uncorrected visual acuity[MD=0.07,95%CI(0.02,0.12),P<0.05],while delaying the progression of diopter[MD=0.14,95%CI(-0.17,0.46),P>0.05]and axial length growth[MD=-0.02,95%CI(-0.10,0.06),P>0.5].The efficacy of the two groups was simi-lar;In terms of acupuncture safety, there were no adverse reactions except for a few reports of subcutaneous hemorrhage. Conclusion The acupoints of head and face are the main acupoints for the treatment of myopia in China.Acupuncture has a certain effect on improving the total clinical effective rate and improving the uncor-rected visual acuity. However, there is a lack of favorable evidence in delaying the progression of diopter and the increase of axial length, and further analysis of higher quality literature is needed.
