Study on the Setting and Expansion of Vehicle Heavy-duty Diesel Engine Emission Testing Cycle
Among the heavy-duty diesel engine vehicles in China Ⅵ,some vehicles, such as urban sanitation vehicles, dump trucks, and urban logistics vehicles, account for a larger proportion of the operating conditions at low speeds and low loads. However,WHTC used by China Ⅵ of heavy-duty diesel engines during type certification has a low load(below 20%)ratio of only 58.1%,lacking typi-cal features such as high and low load mutations. This leads to an inability to effectively evaluate the NOx emission characteristics of the engine at low loads during this type of certification. Therefore, studying the NOx emission levels of heavy-duty diesel vehicles under low-speed,low-load conditions has reference significance for the development of future national standards. This article redefines WNTE cycle control region for China Ⅵ of heavy-duty diesel engines, focusing on the study of NOx emissions under low loads. The WNTE cycle control region's speed range is set between the engine's idle speed and n30,and the load range is set between 0 and 20%.Three diesel engines with rated powers of 130kW,280kW,and 413kW are selected to conduct multiple WNTE tests as defined in this article. The test results show that all three engines have NOx emissions that exceed the limit values required by GB 17691-2018,with the range of exceedance being 17.3%to 627%.
