Research on Improvement and Evaluation Method of Oil Consumption of a Natural Gas Engine
In response to the high oil consumption problem of a certain natural gas engine during short mileage, troubleshooting and a-nalysis revealed that the main cause was poor initial running-in between the piston ring and cylinder liner,as well as weak resistance to negative pressure oil leakage, which led to oil upwelling in the cylinder and participating in combustion.By optimizing the fit be-tween the piston ring and the piston ring groove, improving the machining accuracy of the ring groove, adding a return oil channel to the ring groove, and adjusting the coating on the outer cylindrical surface of the piston ring, the problem was effectively solved. In ad-dition,in response to the problem of high negative pressure in the intake port of a natural gas engine under partial load and idle condi-tions,an evaluation method for oil consumption was proposed. This method can accurately evaluate the oil consumption level under va-rious actual working conditions, providing a reference for further design optimization.
