Analysis of Water Ingress Issue in Combustion Chamber and Supercharger During Bench Testing of A Certain Type of Diesel Engine
During the preparation of a diesel engine,it was found that there was water in the combustion chamber. After further expan-ding the scope of inspection,it was found that there was also water accumulation at the bottom of the supercharger. This failure caused poor ignition of the engine and prevented it from starting normally. In order to identify the cause,a fault tree analysis was conducted on the internal and external systems of the diesel engine, and it was finally determined that the cause of water ingress into the combustion chamber and supercharger was due to backflow of flue gas.Subsequently, the water vapor content in the flue gas and the leakage rate of the backpressure valve were calculated and analyzed, and corresponding solutions were taken based on the analysis results. After ex-perimental verification,it was found that the problem had been resolved.
