Study on The Effect of Two-stroke Engine Exhaust Resonance on Ventilation of Aero-piston
This article compares the effects of three types of exhaust system resonance states on engine performance and ventilation effi-ciency of an aviation piston two-stroke engine, namely direct exhaust, direct exhaust gradually expanding, and gradually expanding gradually contracting, based on one-dimensional flow simulation of GT Power. The results indicate that three different exhaust system resonance states have a significant impact on the engine ventilation efficiency;Compared to the straight exhaust and straight exhaust gradually expanding forms, engines using gradually expanding gradually contracting forms exhibit better performance at high and medi-um low speeds;Reasonable exhaust resonance improves the trapping ratio and scavenging efficiency by increasing the average back pressure, thereby affecting the fuel consumption and performance of the engine.
