Fault Analysis and Improvement of High Oil Content in the Outlet Gas of High-Speed Diesel Oil-Gas Separator
During the functional test of the oil-gas separator for a high-speed boat diesel engine,a problem of high oil content in the exhaust gas occurred.Upon analysis, the return oil from the active oil-gas separator's drive oil directly falls onto the top of the gear train and is stirred by the gear train, leading to an excessively high concentration of oil mist in the gear chamber;Meanwhile, the air intake position of the oil-gas separator on the gear chamber is too close to the gear, and the air intake lacks a shielding structure. The above two factors jointly lead to excessive oil content in the initial intake air of the oil-gas separator, which exceeds the design limit of the active oil-gas separator. To solve the problem, the following improvement measures have been taken:adding a drive oil return flow guide structure for the oil-gas separator in the gear chamber to guide the return oil;The gear at the gas intake position is partially cov-ered to reduce the direct entry of oil mist;A high-grade oil rib is installed at the gas inlet to reduce the amount of oil droplets entering the oil-gas separator from the gas inlet position. In addition,a new pre-separation chamber has been added to further filter large oil droplets.Based on CFD simulation analysis, the pre-separation chamber has a good separation effect on large oil droplets above 10 μm.Through subsequent experimental verification, the oil content in the gas outlet of the improved oil-gas separator has met the limit requirements, proving that the improvement measures are effective.
