Research and Optimization of Gear Clearance Characteristics in Testing Process of a Gasoline Engine Balance Shaft
Gear clearance is a key factor affecting the reliability of gasoline engine balance shafts. This article studies the measurement characteristics of the gear clearance of the balance shaft based on the control single vari-able method, and optimizes the matching relationship between the balance shaft clamp, the balance shaft com-pression force, and the coast torque,as well as the tightening process of the balance shaft bolts. The results in-dicate that the qualification rate of gear clearance is mainly related to the matching relationship between the clam-ping jaws of the balance shaft, the compression force of the balance shaft and the coast torque, and the tighte-ning process of the balance shaft bolts.By optimizing the rubber material of the balance shaft gripper, the quali-fication rate of gear clearance increased from 95.09%to 97.11%.After optimizing the matching relationship be-tween the balance shaft compression force and the coast torque, the qualification rate increased by 1.41%,and af-ter further optimizing the bolt tightening process, the qualification rate increased by 1.26%,ultimately reaching 99.78%,effectively solving the problem of unqualified balance shaft gear clearance testing.
