Study on Milling Process of Vermicular Graphite Cast Iron
This paper aims to discuss the effects of milling speed, feed and back feed on cutting force when u-sing KC72S tool on the VDL-600 A vertical machining machine for milling vermicular graphite cast iron.Through the analysis of the current research status of milling force of vermicular cast iron,we find that milling speed is the most significant factor affecting cutting force.Higher milling speeds result in greater cutting forces, which may be caused by increased friction between the tool and the workpiece during high-speed milling. In contrast, the amount of back eating and feed has a relatively small effect on the cutting force. This may be because these two factors do not change much in the contact area between the tool and the workpiece during the cutting process. When milling vermicular cast iron,it is important to consider adjusting the milling speed, and relatively speaking, the adjustment of the back feed and feed has little effect on the cutting force.
