Abnormal Sound Analysis of Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal of An Engine
The crankshaft rear oil seal of an engine is located at zero kilometers of the whole vehicle factory, and abnormal sound occurs when the engine is idling.Through disassembling and analyzing the parts of the fault-y engine and reproducing the fault, the abnormal sound mechanism is determined as follows:The negative pres-sure resistance index of the oil seal body is insufficient, and the oil return is not smooth.Under the"pumping effect"of the oil seal, the air enters the inner cavity of the engine from the outside of the engine, and the dry friction sound between the oil seal lip and the crankshaft occurs at the lip of the oil seal, and is accompanied by the whistling sound of air flow, resulting in abnormal noise. In order to solve the abnormal sound problem, the structure of crankshaft rear oil seal body and oil return structure are adjusted and optimized.Through the test verification, the rectification plan confirmed to be effective. This analysis provides valuable experience for the closure of the problem and the selection and layout of oil seal design for subsequent new projects.
