The coupler buffer device is the most critical and fundamental component during train operation.The main function of the coupler is to connect various vehicles and transmit traction force to maintain a certain distance,while also reducing the longitudinal impact force between trains.This article will conduct structural de-sign and strength analysis on the 16#coupler.Firstly,based on the structural dimensions of each part of the 16#coupler,solidworks will be used to design the structure of each part of the 16#coupler.Then,solidworks will be used to assemble the structure of each part of the 16#coupler,and finally generate the overall structure of the 16#coupler.Import the assembled model into Simsolid software,perform 3D model strength calculation on it,and determine whether the No.16 coupler meets the usage standards based on the yield stress in the mate-rial properties of the No.16 coupler.
