CAN bus J1939 message is particularly important in the development of automobile system,and the configuration of message is increasing gradually.This paper proposes and verifies a flexible bit by bit config-uration method of message data.By calibrating the byte length of a variable in the J1939 message communication matrix and its position in the message,the message data of a variable can be obtained.This technology can real-ize the message data configuration of a variable across bytes in the unit of bits,which plays an important role in the construction of message configuration.
