The annual coal transportation volume of the Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway is over 400 million tons,with a departure interval of 12 minutes for 20000 ton trains and 11 minutes for 10000 ton trains.Due to the large load capacity and short departure interval,the problem of wheel wear is becoming increasingly serious,which increases the huge cost of wheel pair maintenance work.The performance of the wheels directly affects the safety and quality of vehicle operation.Through research,statistics,and analysis of the size of the C80 type ve-hicle wheels,this paper briefly analyzes the relationship between wheel model,wheel steel code,wheel diame-ter,bogie model,and wheel installation number with wheel wear.Suggestions for guiding maintenance and op-eration inspection are proposed to effectively reduce costs and ensure transportation safety.
