Jet ignition can effectively improve engine combustion efficiency and suppress knock. The ignition position of the spark plug in the pre-chamber has a significant impact on the ignition success rate and combustion effect.Using CFD simulation method, the influence of the ignition position of the spark plug in the pre-chamber of a passive jet ignition engine on the combustion process in the engine cylinder was studied. The following con-clusions were obtained:appropriately placing the ignition position of the spark plug in the pre-chamber close to the nozzle can achieve accelerated flame propagation with the help of high turbulent kinetic energy gas;Under the action of airflow, the flame first propagates towards the end of the pre-chamber,which can reduce the un-burned mixture that flows back from the pre-chamber to the main combustion chamber before high-temperature gas injection, and increase the cumulative heat release of the mixture in the pre-chamber.The maximum cumula-tive heat release rate of the combustible mixture in the pre-chamber can be increased by 14.9%.
