A Study on Influence of Vehicle Body Flare Degree on Crosswind Stability
Reasonable body flare can help achieve a balanced distribution of air pressure around the vehicle and reduce the impact of crosswind on driving safety, thereby improving the stability of the vehicle in crosswinds.By changing the body flare degree of the car and using Fluent software for numerical simulation of car models with different flare degrees to obtain aerodynamic six-force coefficients, and then using Carsim software for vehicle cr-osswind kinematics simulation, the results show that there is a significant correlation between the body flare de-gree of the car and the stability of the vehicle during crosswind driving. The higher the numerical value of the body flare coefficient within the range of 0.005-0.03,the better the stability of the vehicle during crosswind driving.
