Analysis of Noise Issues in Balance Shaft System of a Certain Diesel Engine
Through cross validation of engine components with abnormal noise, this article first identifies the relevant components that cause the engine balance shaft abnormal noise, including the balance shaft and needle roller bearings. The 146/160 order howling follows the needle roller bearing, and the 212 order howling follows the balance shaft balance shaft. Then,by using the fishbone diagram analysis method and comparing the differences between noisy and non noisy engine parts, the fundamental reason for the ghostly howling of the balance shaft system was identified. The difference in the waviness of the balance shaft needle roller neck was the main cause of the 174/212 order howling; The main reason for the 146/160 order whistling caused by the difference in needle roller ripple. Finally,a solution was proposed, which is to optimize the waviness of the parts. After optimization, the parts were verified through experiments, and the ghostly howling of the balance shaft system disappeared. The problem was solved.
