Optimizing Gasoline Engine Combustion System Based on CFD Numerical Simulation
The intake port of an existing 2.0 L GDI engine was improved, and AVL-FIRE software was used for CFD simulation analysis. The results show that the average flow coefficient of the improved intake port in-creased by 4.73%compared to the previous one,and the average tumble ratio increased by 7.93%.Star-CD software was used for transient CFD analysis of the combustion system before and after the improvement, the re-sults show that the improved combustion system can form larger and stronger vortices in the cylinder, and the transient tumble ratio and turbulent energy are significantly better than the original combustion system.Bench tests show that the fuel consumption of the improved combustion system at different speeds and rated power points is lower than the original combustion system.
