Improving the Engagement Noise of Engine Belt Timing Systems Discussion
This study focuses on the engagement noise issue of a 1.5T engine's timing belt system at 900 rpm idle speed.Using NVH(Noise,Vibration, and Harshness)testing and vibration testing equipment,a detailed diagnosis of the problem was conducted. The research findings indicate that the engagement noise of the timing belt system primarily originates from the friction and vibration between the belt and the drive pulleys. To address this issue, this paper propo-ses a design improvement for the belt structure, which includes optimizing the material and shape of the belt.Experimen-tal results demonstrate that this solution effectively reduces the engagement noise of the engine's timing belt system,en-hancing the engine's operational quality and efficiency. This research provides significant theoretical foundations and prac-tical guidance for the design and optimization of engine timing belt systems.
