Effect of PODE/Methanol Coal-based Oxygenated Blended Fuels on Combustion Characteristics of Diesel Engine
Based on a four-cylinder turbocharged intercooled diesel engine, the in-cylinder pressure variation trend of PODE/methanol mixed fuel was investigated.By means of CONVERGE software coupled with the chemical reaction mechanism of PODE/methanol dual fuel, aiming at the different proportions of PODE/methanol mixed fuel, the in-cylin-der mixture, oxygen quality, temperature field and major free radicals were analyzed. The results showed that the evapo-rative oxidation performance of methanol-PODE blend fuel was improved, the proportion of methanol was increased, the combustion duration was shortened and more oxygen-enriched areas in the cylinder. The formation trend of HO2,H2O2 and OH was similar to that of in-cylinder temperature. With the increase of the concentration of HO2 and H2O2 in the cylinder, the reaction rate of OH radicals at high temperature was increased, and the oxidation of active radicals was en-hanced.The OH accumulation mass decreased with the increase of methanol ratio.
