Research on Stiffness Characteristics of Diaphragm Coupling
Diaphragm coupling has been widely used in the installation of the tail drive shafts and the MGB drive shafts,based on the actual working conditions and considering the centrifugal force,the simplified finite el-ement model is established and the fine mesh is divided,and the ANSYS Workbench is used to simulate and cal-culate the stiffness characteristic parameters of the diaphragm coupling in radial,axial,torsional,and angular di-rections.By comparing the stiffness in all directions of applying centrifugal force and not,the results show that diaphragm coupling has higher stiffness in radial,axial,and torsional directions which can provide better com-pensation and the centrifugal force has a great influence on the axial stiffness and angular stiffness of the dia-phragm coupling,and it should be considered when calculating the stiffness of high-speed rotary machine,which has a certain significance for the subsequent dynamic of the transmission shafts.
