Research on Surface Quality of 6061 Aluminum Alloy by Longitudinal-torsional Ultrasonic Assisted Milling
The application of ultrasonic vibration assisted cutting in machining is also increasing. In order to provide process reference for actual production, the surface morphology and surface roughness of 6061 aluminum alloy processed by longitudinal-torsional ultrasonic machining and ordinary machining during end milling and side milling were compared by single factor experiment method, and the influence of ultrasonic amplitude on the surface quality was obtained. The experimental results show that the surface morphology of longitudinal torsional ultrasonic end milling and side milling is similar, both of which are regular fish scale texture. The surface of ordinary end milling is characterized by arc-shaped concave convex scratches, while the microstructure of ordinary side milling surface is irregular wavy texture. The surface roughness of longitudinal-torsional ultrasonic end milling is greater than that of ordinary end milling, while the surface roughness of longitudinal-torsional ultrasonic side milling is less than that of ordinary side milling, and the surface quality of ultrasonic side milling is better than that of ordinary side milling.
