Aiming at the problem of whether the exhaust air energy recovery from unheated underground garages in cold zone is energy saving and economical,the air temperature and humidity both inside and outside of an unheated underground garage in Beijing are tested for 4 years.Based on the measured data,the energy saving performance and economic impact of exhaust air sensible heat recovery of the underground garage are quantitatively analysed.The influence of different seasons,exhaust positions and operation modes is analysed.The effect of frost in winter is also taken into account.The results show that in the intermittent operation mode of office buildings,the average energy saving of the exhaust air sensible heat recovery device is 0.125 kW·h/(m3/h)during the air conditioning season,0.547 kW·h/(m3/h)during the heating season,and 0.672 kW·h/(m3/h)throughout the year.The average ratio of energy recovery is 9.1 during the air conditioning season,and 16.2 during the heating season.The average investment payback period is 5.9 years for the intermittent operation mode and 2.0 years for the continuous operation mode.Therefore,the application of the exhaust air sensible heat recovery device to unheated underground garages in cold zone can produce significant energy saving and economic benefits.
