The Impact Mechanism and Spatial Effects of the Yangtze River Economic Belt Development Strategy on Common Prosperity
In the stage of high-quality development,how to deeply promote the implementation of the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and facilitate the realization of common prosperity in the regions along the belt is a research issue of great practical significance.Based on the panel data of prefecture-level cities across China from 2010 to 2021,this study considers the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt as a quasi-natural experiment,and evaluates the impact of the policy on common prosperity by constructing a double-difference model based on the theoretical analysis of the impact of the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt on common prosperity.It is found that,firstly,the implementation of the Yangtze River Economic Belt Development Strategy has a positive impact on the promotion of common wealth,which is still true after a series of robustness tests.Secondly,hetero-geneity suggests that the impact of the Yangtze River Economic Belt Development Strategy on common wealth varies by city and city cluster locations,city size and city characteristics.Thirdly,mechanism analyses show that the Yangtze River Economic Belt development strategy can enhance common prosperity by strengthening infrastructure construction,facilitating population mobility and promoting coordinated regional development.And then,further analysis shows that the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt has spatial spillover effects,and these spillover effects are characterized by attenuation.Research in this study provides theoretical foundations and policy insights for further realizing the policy divi-dend of the regional strategy,and realizing the common prosperity of all people.
