Objective:To compare the efficacy of single-incision laparoscopic surgery and traditional three-incision laparo-scopic surgery in the treatment of acute appendicitis in children. Methods:The clinical data of patients with acute appendici-tis admitted to the Department of Pediatric Surgery, the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University from January to September 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different surgical methods, the patients were divided into conventional three-incision laparoscopic appendectomy(CLA)group(30 cases)and single-incision laparoscopic appendectomy(SILA)group(30 cases). Results:There was no significant difference in gender, age,BMI,white blood cell count,CRP and other preopera-tive general data between the two groups. There were no significant differences in postoperative pain score, length of hospital stay, incidence of complications and total cost of hospitalization between the two groups. The operation time of the SILA group was slightly longer than that of the CLA group, but the difference was not statistically significant. The postoperative appear-ance satisfaction of the SILA group was significantly better than that of the CLA group(P<0.05).Conclusions:Compared with CLA,SILA has the same clinical efficacy and has more advantages in appearance satisfaction.SILA is an ideal surgical method for the treatment of acute appendicitis in children.
